Hello, what can you do to stop being constipated? Thank you for your suggestions.
    P. Dukan Hello, you perhaps know that foods which are rich in proteins contain very little waste. For example, an egg or yoghurt does not contain any fibre at all, everything is assimilated and there is nothing left over. As there are no fats this reduces lubrication in the digestive tract. Obviously anyone who already has a tendency to become constipated will see this increase. You only need be concerned about being constipated if it becomes difficult to cope and you have pains and abdominal bloating. If this is what is happening to you, start by drinking 2 litres of water a day and make yourself drink water which contains a lot of magnesium. Then start alternating between 1 PP day (pure proteins) and 1 PV day (proteins-vegetables) so that every second day you are getting vegetables, and cook yourself vegetables with lots of fibre.
Do stomach muscle exercises in sequences of 10, try doing at least 5 series of 2 lots of 10 exercises i.e. a total of 100 exercises spread out over the day. At home make sure you get 3 tablespoons of oat bran per day. If this still doesn’t work make yourself some stewed rhubarb. If after trying all this you are still constipated, go and talk to your pharmacist or your doctor about it.
Many thanks for all your advice and your miracle method.
    P. Dukan Thank you for following it, I’m showing you the way but it’s you who is doing the work.
Thank you so much Dr, your diet has changed my life, I came across it in 2004 and straightaway it brought results.
    P. Dukan Thank you Lynette, you are wonderful!
When you’re having a period and for a few days afterwards is it normal to stop losing any more weight and even to put a bit back on? Even if you’ve been following your dieting instructions to the letter and haven’t done anything you shouldn’t? Thank you! Have a good day.
    P. Dukan Yes, usually 5 to 6 days before a period starts, the hormones that accumulate for your cycle make female tissue spongy so that it easily retains water, becomes engorged, your breasts feel swollen and this all ends with some weight gain. Always bear in mind that 1 litre of water weighs around 2 lbs or 1 kg.
When you ask us for measurements and our weight do you want us to take them when we fill out the reports or in the morning before we have eaten anything? Thanks in advance.
    P. Dukan If possible in the morning before you have eaten.
in all honesty I think you are fantastic, I’ve lost over 20 pounds since November without having to do anything and my friends have also followed the same programme and have lost lots of weight too, so a really big thank you, I will keep going with this marvellous method and this life style that enables me to keep fit like I’ve never been before, but I’ve got one question: now that I’ve finished the stabilisation phase and am no longer using the oat bran pancakes, is there any way of including oat bran other than adding it to yoghurts?
    P. Dukan Yes, you can make bread with it; you can also use it for making porridge and pizza bases but do try to have your three tablespoons per day. And once again well done and thank you for your thanks, coming across so much support and such great results helps enormously.
Thanks again Dr DUKAN for all that you are doing, are artichokes a vegetable I should avoid or not?
    P. Dukan Thank you for continuing to be one of our loyal supporters, artichokes are indeed a vegetable you can use but if you are finding it hard to shift the pounds don’t go overboard on them. I like this vegetable as I put it in my SLOW FOODS category because artichokes take so long to eat, especially when they come straight out of the steamer still too hot to touch!
Hello Dr, my sister has brought me back some "oatie" biscuits and each biscuit contains 1g of protein, 2.8 g of sugar, 2.7g of fats, including 1.2g of saturated fats and traces of salt (65 calories per biscuit). I suspect that they aren’t at all good for the diet but if I’m desperate for a treat is this really bad?...in fact what I mean is that at the moment I’m getting cravings (my brain makes me salivate if I so much as think of food), I am not giving in but at the moment it’s all getting a bit hard so I allow myself one biscuit per day, are you really annoyed with me for doing this? It could balance out the days when I stick exactly to the diet...anyway if you tell me off and say that I can’t have them I will understand and I’ll start working towards my goal again with great determination...thanks for taking a couple of minutes to read my message, you must be bombarded with messages like this all the time and you always give such lovely answers! Thank you for everything.
    P. Dukan charlotteb, you are wonderful! I’m not some sort of ogre. If you promise me that the rest of the day will be perfect then of course you can have your small reward, I will gladly agree to it as you have a way of asking for things that hardly anyone could resist!
I very much want to thank you because I’ve lost over 9 pounds in 6 weeks when I’ve been trying for the past few years to lose this weight. I live in England and my friends are amazed by my results. They are all looking forward to your book and web site coming out in English.
    P. Dukan Dear nellyshaw, first of all I am very pleased with your spectacular start which in one go, just one go has more or less got you to your goal. If I have read your report correctly you’ve only got another pound to lose and then you’ll have reached your True Weight which is 7 stone 9 lbs, I couldn’t have hoped for more. And if you are happy, pass the message on to other English women. As for you, as soon as you’ve got down to your True Weight, avoid the temptation of going any further as this would become a handicap because the lower your weight is the more difficult it is to stabilise it. What really matters is not so much losing the weight but not putting it back on again and being cured of your weight problems. And don’t forget that I am with you and if you need any help to finish losing weight and even more so to consolidate and stabilize than come and talk to me about it. Have a good day.
Where can you get oat bran?
    P. Dukan Hello Bjane27, you can find it in supermarkets in the breakfast cereals section, beside all the porridge oats, the main brand is Mornflake, Tesco for example now has its own brand. Good luck!!
Can you eat as much gammon as you want (a sort of ham on the bone that is very popular in England)? Its nutritional value per 100 g is 187 calories, 25 g proteins, 0.8 g carbohydrates, 8.9 g fats and 2.13g salt, thanks for your help Pierre Dukan
    P. Dukan Hello Acvergnaud and welcome to the forum. No, you can’t eat this sort of ham during the first two weight loss phases. Enjoy the coaching!
When you are not able to make oat bran galettes, do you think it would be okay to replace them with a few "mini oat cakes" that don’t have any sugar, fats or GMOs, the brand name is "Nairn's" and they are made in Scotland. They are easy to carry around, contain fibre and only 0.9 g fat per oat cake. Thank you for your opinion
    P. Dukan cleo, if it’s the odd oat cake from time to time you can but if it’s a regular thing then no. Oat cakes are made with wholegrain oats and no doubt are good products, a bit too much fat but very suitable for the consolidation phase and even more so for permanent stabilisation. But do try and make your own oat bran galettes, it’s a sign of real determination and you taking control. Have a good evening cléo
First of all I just wanted to thank you again ... in one year I have lost almost 2 stone 12 pounds by following your instructions to the letter…if I’ve signed up to the site it’s because I’ve still got a stone and a half to lose and because my stagnation is less of a stagnation plateau and more like a mighty platform… I had a CVA… and after 4 years, I’ve still only got 80 % of my health back…which led my GP to tell me to eat slow sugars every day. I haven’t done as I was told to - apart from 2 slices of bread every morning... could it be this that is stopping me from losing weight? And if so what can I do about it? Thanks again from the bottom of my heart
    P. Dukan WALK-ING, CVA or no CVA, you’ve got to walk and as you don’t have to go to work, you can walk a lot and for a long time. As for your doctor’s slow sugars, they are not strictly necessary, your blood and metabolism are capable of producing what you need. However, carrying around this extra weight is harmful for you, so get WALK-ING
on average how long does a stagnation period last?
    P. Dukan It shouldn’t go on for longer than 6 days, any longer than that you need to find the reason or what is causing it.
Hello Doctor, I’m in the 4th day of my cruise phase and this morning I’ve put just under a pound back on, you were talking about stagnation, but putting on a few ounces again is this going to set me back? Obviously, I’m disappointed about this as I thought I was following the diet correctly. Thanks for your help.
    P. Dukan vali, I am saying this to you now, based on my 30 years of experience working in this field, IF YOU HAVEN’T DONE ANYTHING YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE, THIS WEIGHT GAIN IS NOTHING BUT WATER!
Hello Doctor, I hope you are well this Monday, as for me I’m feeling a bit down as I have been stagnating at 9 stone 9 pounds for 4 days now and I haven’t been eating anything that I am not supposed to, what can I do to sort this out ? I know that since I’ve been following your diet I’ve hardly taken any exercise as I’m exhausted every night when I get in from work do you think this is what is causing my stagnation? Thank you for helping me Dr I really need your help ... you are a really nice person and you’re part of my life now...
    P. Dukan nainai, thank you for your sweet message, from now on, you too will be part of my life, sometimes all you need is a word, a smile or just a look for contact to be made. Your little stagnation isn’t a stagnation, it’s your body simply pausing for breathe, after working hard it is recovering for a short time and then it WILL get going again, have no fear! If you do feel tired, and that I quite understand, you can try going for a short walk, just 15 minutes or so to keep me happy and give me some quick results.
Hello doctor, I started dieting 13 days ago. During the PP phase, I lost 6.5 lbs but nothing more since then. I am following the instructions very carefully; the only thing is that I keep half of my oat bran for a tea-time snack as I always get terribly hungry around 5 o’clock... Is it normal to have this stagnation from the start of the cruise phase? Thank you!
    P. Dukan mdelem, your situation is not that straightforward as you are quite overweight and have been for some time, you’ve been pregnant 4 times and you’ve tried lots of diets. You must already have an inkling that we are not going to manage to solve this problem quickly or with a magic wand. Having said that, 6 and a half pounds in 13 days, isn’t that bad but going into the cruise phase always creates a small block that very quickly opens up. For you the only danger would be if you get disheartened at the very moment when your pounds are ready to drop off. Your project is no small undertaking but a real change in your life style. So I am ready to help you, but you will have to do the same from your side too. I have indeed noted that you haven’t had any lapses but I have also recorded that you are hardly taking any exercise now. You must walk for an hour a day; we both need you to do this if we want your weight to continue going down.
Hello Dr DUKAN, I’ve just found out that I’m 15 weeks pregnant, yes. It seems crazy and even I still can’t take it all in. As I’ve been following the diet since January, I thought I was feeling sick and unwell because of the diet. So, I’ve been feeling a bit down and for 3 days now I’ve found it difficult to follow the diet and I’ve put on 3 lbs in 3 days. I’d still like to avoid putting on lots of extra pounds during my pregnancy and even end up weighing just under 9 stone when I give birth! I don’t know if that’s sensible, help me! I wasn’t able be here for the 11am chat session so I’d like you to look at my request! Thank you for everything Dr Dukan.
    P. Dukan lynette, if you are pregnant, then that’s great news. As for dieting, only do Proteins and Vegetables and add a piece of fruit at lunchtime and in the evenings, have two teaspoons of oil per day in salad dressings or sauces, eat natural yoghurt rather than 0 % fat yogurts and if you do that you won’t put on weight, your baby will be nourished and if you have any cellulite, this is the best time in your life to lose it as it’s the magic moment when the body no longer protects the woman and her sexuality but instead it protects the child and her maternity and it doesn’t refuse to burn up her fat, from where it comes. So Lynette, feel calm and reassured, you are bringing life into the world.
hallo, I’ve just found out that I’m pregnant. As I’m already overweight I don’t want to put on any extra weight with my first pregnancy. Can you adapt your programme or help me find a way of not putting on too many extra pounds. I weigh just over 13 stone and I’m 5 foot 7 inches tall. I’m very frightened about getting fat. Thanks in advance.
    P. Dukan nath, do Proteins and Vegetables (PV) + 2 pieces of fruit per day along with 40 g or an ounce and a half of 20 % fat cheese and 20 % fat dairy products and we’ll see how your weight develops but make the most of this time while your baby is still tiny to take exercise while you can. You are right to be concerned about being overweight, but there is no reason for you to put yourself under any strain or make yourself tired, report back soon with your news.
I’m the very happy mother of 4 children, my last child is 6 weeks old and I’m breastfeeding her. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to combine the diet with breastfeeding in fact I’ve noticed that I had less milk and this is why I’ve had a few lapses because I feel very tired and I don’t want to give up the diet or the breastfeeding, could you give me some advice so that I can keep going and get the breastfeeding going again, thanks.
    P. Dukan annesophie, happy mother who wants to have it all, to be a maternal and caring mum, to be healthy and to breastfeed, to be beautiful and in good shape. YOU ARE RIGHT you can have it all and the more ambitious your life plan is, the more motivating and fulfilling it is too. In your situation, drink lots so that you produce milk, eat low-fat dairy products, add one portion of fruit per day and eat lots of vegetables and take your 3 tablespoons of oat bran every day and let me know QUICKLY how you are getting on.
    Good evening,
I’d like to know if breastfeeding can stop you losing weight.
I’ll explain myself, I’m feeding my daughter only in the mornings and not very much at all, she eats some breakfast with me afterwards so it’s more a way of us being close than about actually feeding her. So I haven’t changed anything about my diet. However, I wondered in spite of it being hardly anything if my breastfeeding could still be slowing down my weight loss?
A couple of pounds in 1 week, including the attack phase, doesn’t seem that much to me. Thank you
    P. Dukan dear mimichat, yes, it is possible that breastfeeding can slow down your weight loss as you secrete different hormones. However, that is certainly not a reason for interrupting this special time when you cuddle and feed, this is more important than the speed at which you lose weight. On the other hand, a couple of pounds in a week, even if it’s not earth shattering, it isn’t that bad at all and it is quite possible that you’ll keep going like this which would mean you’d lose around 8 pounds this month, which I would be very pleased with, don't forget that you have just been pregnant and that you are not that overweight and that you’re a lovely mum who’ll soon be 23 years old. So then, feel calm and reassured and let me know from time to time how your baby is getting on and don’t forget to tell me her name!
Hello doctor, first of all thanks for your site, for a few years know I’ve been using your book and you’ve made me lose a few pounds but this coaching is just great and it puts you under a little bit of pressure which is very positive when following the diet. A really big thank you. I’ve heard people talk about ephedrine based weight loss pills are they allowed or are they dangerous? I’ve also heard people talk about alli 60, what do you think about it?
    P. Dukan Dear kcohen, thanks for your nice comment about the site and its very positive little bit of pressure, monitoring is indeed very important. Forget about ephedrine, it’s dangerous and useless. As for alli, it’s our old friend xenical again, which costs a small fortune and only works on 30 % of fats. As there is only very little fat in my diet, it really isn’t necessary unless you put away huge quantities of salmon and oily fish and you are very rich. However, I do at times prescribe it during consolidation along with the two celebration meals and also in permanent stabilization for every meal that too rich.
I’ve tried to do the attack phase again and I’ve had good results with losing weight again. So I’ve got back down to the weight that I always get stuck at, I’ve still got the same problem of getting through this barrier and continuing to lose these last few pounds in the cruise phase that have been there for so long now. I should tell you that the most I have weighed was 103 kilos. I’d also like to add that I’ve already spent years yo-yo dieting and now at 47, I’ve only really managed to start losing weight properly thanks to your diet.
    P. Dukan Thank you, I’m not sure that I have completely understood but if you’ve got to lose some weight and it won’t budge then you’ll have to crush it as you would with a battering ram or a bulldozer, by using pure proteins and proteins + vegetables + physical exercise + a mirror to see yourself melt away and me to help you.
hi Doctor. I’m back again after being away for 5 days. I’ve been terribly serious about my diet over this long wk/end but I’ve still only lost just under a pound! For almost ten days now my weight has been yo-yoing although I haven’t been eating anything I’m not supposed to. I have to confess that my motivation is starting to slip away. HELP!!! SYLVIE
    P. Dukan Hang on a minute! You come back from holiday having only lost just under a pound and you are telling me about losing your motivation and your morale. But I never told you that losing weight was going to be easy, and yes, there are times when you do have to fight but I’m here with you to help you. I’m not a magician and I can’t wave a magic wand and change fat into thin air but I can guide you, oversee your programme, give you support when you feel fragile but I also need YOU, I NEED YOU TO HELP ME. We have to do this work together. So come on then, today let’s get things going again with a day just like your first day + a 45 minute walk + lots of water with a low mineral content, not much salt and tomorrow you’re going to lose well over half a pound and then everything becomes possible once again.
Doctor, do you allow us to sprinkle brewer’s yeast powder on our vegetables? It adds lots of flavour and is good for the skin.
    P. Dukan Oh yes, you can.
Hi, I’d like to know if the plain or vegetable soy burgers sold in supermarkets are allowed. Thanks, Caroline.
    P. Dukan Yes if you are doing PV and you don’t eat them with the magic words AS MUCH AS YOU WANT
I forgot to ask a question: On a PV day am I allowed to have vegetable soup? (vegetables + salt cooked in water for a long time)? Thanks.
    P. Dukan YES and YES again astroc, GO FOR IT
Luviah: Hello, we are recommended to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day, but we don’t do this with the PP/PV diet. What effect will this have if like me your cruise phase has to last 5 months? Thanks.
    P. Dukan None at all, 5 portions of fruit and vegetables doesn’t mean 5 + 5 but 5 in total. All the vitamins and micronutrients that there are in fruit you can get from vegetables, to be sure it is less concentrated but nothing is missing. So to get your full quota, all you have to do is eat lots of vegetables. What’s more, the idea of having these 5 portions is to fill up your stomach so that there’s much less room for fatty, sugary and high calorie foods. However, you are on a diet so you are motivated and you are watching what you eat. Luviah, stick carefully to your diet and trust me, you can have your fruit afterwards in consolidation; in the meantime they have too much sugar for my diet.
Hello Doctor and thanks in advance for being so patient and available. Today is my first cruise phase day (almost 6 pounds lost after 5 attack days!). God knows how I’ve been dreaming of eating crunchy veggies again (carrots, cucumber, radish, cauliflower ... Yummy, Yummy!). And disaster, yesterday evening I get my period and the result: 300g back on this morning ...I’m a bit afraid that the combination of going back to vegetables again and getting my period will ruin what I’ve achieved (and I was feeling so on top of the world !!!!). Couldn’t I just carry on with 2 or 3 more days of PP to keep it going? What do you think?
    P. Dukan kimbeon, if your spirits are that high can they really be threatened by an extra 300 g of water gained during your period, you don’t mean this seriously. No, just carry on with your programme normally knowing that when you get your period, you retain a little water and that after the 4th or 5th day it will all disappear again – so don’t lose heart for something as small as this, there’ll be other more tricky moments ahead.
Hi everyone and hallo dr. I wanted to know if it’s because I’m having my period at the moment that I’m finding dieting so much more difficult. And if the answer is yes, do you have any advice. Thank you, Pierre Dukan.
    P. Dukan I can’t tell you absolutely for definite but it obvious that when women get their period this is a time of instability and turbulence because of surplus oestrogen hormones which are well known for making you feel hungry, for causing small mood swings and for making you put on weight. If this is how it is for you, then ask your pharmacist or doctor for some folliculinum, a homeopathic remedy.
Hi, help - my body is desperate for sugar, I’m just starting my period and I am really suffering, but I’ve got such a craving for sugar, I can feel it and I just want it so much. I’m doing PV at the moment so what can I do to cope with this craving?
    P. Dukan Make yourself some stewed rhubarb, cooked a few pieces in a pan with a little water and then add some sweetener at the end, also eat two or even at this time three 0 % fat yoghurts, but the ones with bits of fruit, use sugar-free chewing gum as long as all the chewing doesn’t affect your intestines and the best thing you can do during this time is to make yourself some oat bran galettes with 1.5 tbsp of bran, 1.5 tbsp of fromage frais, one egg white and add some sweetener; have 2 or 3 of them, and if your craving is strong then have a 4th galette and take a bit more exercise afterwards.
When are we allowed to have some fresh fruit, full of vitamins? I gave in and ate a small apple, is this a sin or a lapse...?
    P. Dukan cléo, women have been giving in to apples for a very long time but that doesn’t mean you’ll be sent away from paradise. My method isn't a religion; you enjoyed eating a piece of fruit. It isn’t very serious but just make sure that you’re not having a piece of fruit every day otherwise you’ll still lose weight but only very slowly and you’ll get frustrated. What you can do is have some stewed rhubarb every PV day, which is delicious, tastes slightly tart and is good for sorting out any constipation.
I just love this site because it’s gives me the urge to keep fighting away til I get to the end. You really feel the coaching is for you and that’s just what I needed! My boyfriend is ever so proud of me as he can see that this time I really want to keep going on. Huge thanks to you, I already better inside my head and in my body! Just one thing, I feel tired so can take some vitamins and mineral salts?
    P. Dukan thanks, calinee69, for your encouraging words, your satisfaction gives me pleasure. You also are making it happen because by following the instructions, you have achieved the results you’ve got. As for the vitamins, it’s yes of course. There are products with vitamins and mineral salts that are sugar-free. Just keep up what you started, you are on the right track, Congratulations!
I’ve being doing the diet for 5 weeks now and I’ve got water retention whereas before I didn’t suffer from it. What can I do? I try drinking but that doesn’t make any difference and my weight is stagnating.
    P. Dukan Water retention is a really annoying problem, I’ve got nothing against the food supplement that you told me about, it’s just as good as lots of other ones but is marketed a bit more. To get back to your retention, drink lots of water with as low a mineral content as possible, avoid using salt in your food and as for detox, cleansing agents try anything that contains dandelion, orthosiphon, birch, red vine, queen-of-the-meadow, cherry stem and if that isn’t enough then ask your doctor or gynaecologist for a more medical product.
Thanks for all your help Doctor! I’ve got another question: can I use at the same time a detox product that I bought at the chemist’s called Water Balance?
    P. Dukan Yes you may.
Hello doctor, I’ve been having dizzy spells for 2 days especially when I get up and when I lie down. What do you make of that? What can I do about it? I’ve lost about 4 pounds since Sunday.
    P. Dukan csyl, your blood pressure must be low. Avoid eating too much salt and drink a little less for two days. That’s all and don’t get up suddenly, go into a sitting position first for a few seconds.
Hi Doctor, this is an emergency. I’ve reached the 31st day of my cruise phase. The only thing is that for a week and a half now I’ve been feeling really very weak so much so that I’ve been having dizzy spells and falling asleep every time I sit down. Is this because of the diet? What should I do? I’m frightened of fainting and then giving it all up.
    P. Dukan diana, I don’t think so, unless you’ve been depriving yourself and haven’t been eating enough. Get your pharmacist or your doctor to check your blood pressure; I’m sure it’s to do with a slight drop in your blood pressure which is annoying for women who have a low blood pressure before they start dieting. It suits anyone with high blood pressure but it can be tiring for those with low blood pressure.
can I include some fruit during the cruise phase??
    P. Dukan Oh no, kate please wait a bit, you can re-introduce fruit when you start the consolidation phase.
Hi, I noticed on the CHAT that it was possible to have some home made stewed rhubarb. I’m in the cruise phase and I’d really like to eat some fruit: what do I have to do to have some? Thanks
    P. Dukan You may have some rhubarb every PV day; have the equivalent of a pot of yoghurt filled to the top.
I’m just starting this diet for the first time, am I allowed seafood?
    P. Dukan YES of course and you can even HAVE AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE!
I’m really missing not eating any brioche, pains au chocolat, jam and butter for breakfast. Yoghurts aren’t a breakfast, I’m tired of them and ham, oat bran galettes they’re not my thing. I’ve lost loads but today I gave in. When can I have pastries again, chocolate again, pizzas again...
    P. Dukan Hello tuilerie25, you can make yourself some Dukan brioche or even Dukan pain au chocolat. Go to the recipe book in your slimming apartment. Also don’t hesitate to make yourself some creams, custards, mousses, little cakes (recipes in the recipe book in your slimming apartment). In the book you’ve also got some pizza recipes as well as on the forum (link "Forums" at the bottom of the home page on the green strip). You are in the cruise phase at the moment and you’ll have to be patient and wait for the consolidation phase before you are allowed pastries in moderation.
euphorbe60: I didn’t have a galette this morning, is it better to have my bran this lunchtime in a pudding or this evening ....as porridge???
    P. Dukan Yes euphorbe, that’s no problem at all. Take a look at the recipe book there are so many possibilities but porridge is easy and it really fills you up.
an oat bran galette and a fried egg + 0% fromage frais is that the right thing to have in the morning for breakfast?
    P. Dukan ABSOLUTELY!
Hello Doctor, because of the timing, I can’t get my instructions before I leave for work in the mornings so I only see them at night when I get back home. This is a bit of a nuisance. Also my last analyses show that I have a cholesterol problem. I haven’t eaten anything I shouldn’t as far as fats are concerned so I reckon it must be the egg that I eat every day in the galette. Please what’s the maximum number of eggs you can eat in a week? Otherwise I’m fine and I’m grateful to my colleague who told me about this diet. It’s the only one that works for me; so now my husband is also eating Dukan in the evenings. Thank you for sending me an answer.
    P. Dukan bambou, your cholesterol isn’t necessarily due to your egg because this diet doesn’t have any added fats and the foods you are allowed to eat are all lean and low in fat. So it is just possible that you are making it yourself. But if you have any doubts, make your galettes with just the egg white and the result will surprise you, it tastes exactly the same. As for your instructions, we can’t alter your programme but you can move it forwards or backwards if you want to, lots of people do this as it’s easier for them to organise themselves.
Hello Dr Dukan, First of all a big thank you for all your recommendations and most of all for your moral support and advice. Thanks for everything. I wanted to know if stress can make you swell up, as my stomach feels very big and I think that I’m paying the price for getting over stressed and it serves me right, so this morning I started again with the oat bran galette and I’m starting again doing all the right things thanks to your support. We’re ever so lucky to have a doctor listening to us. By writing to you today I feel motivated again and that is doing me so much good. You’re fantastic and your team is amazing. Thank you everyone. I am going off to do battle again with my rotten pounds, I’m going to have to lose them before Christmas and lose them once and for all.
    P. Dukan hallo caramamel, stress is indeed one of the elements that contribute directly and indirectly to putting on weight. Directly because stress makes you secrete cortisol, the stress hormone, and indirectly because it pushes you to make mistakes, to want something to make up for your suffering so you end up comfort eating. Anyway, I know and you know too, that we will get there, it’s just a question of time but time is on your side because with each day that goes by you are consolidating your results. So keep up the good work, I am here at your side, hang on to me as it’s easier to move forward when there’s two of you.
Can we use "Splenda" the sucralose based sweetener? Is it like aspartame?
    P. Dukan Yes, it’s just as good.
In what category do you put powdered fructose? Sugar or sweetener?
    P. Dukan Hello piyonne, fructose is a simple sugar that is found in abundance in fruit, some vegetables and honey. It has a greater sweetening power than sucrose (table sugar). It is assimilated more slowly than glucose but creates the same problems when dealing with obesity.
